How does hypnosis influence healing?

Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness, like prayer or meditation.  When you are hypnotized, you are more aware of your connection to the larger field of consciousness.  This larger field of consciousness can be referred to as super-conscious.  Your super-conscious mind sees you as perfect, whole and complete.  But your subconscious mind is holding wrong information - in the form of beliefs like, “I’m unlovable, unworthy, stupid, useless, dirty, powerless,” etc.  These beliefs were formed during infancy and early childhood, when you were hardly in a position to see things differently.  Now they cause negative emotions that have an actual physical effect on the cells in your body.  You can help yourself and others change the wrong information in the subconscious using hypnotherapy.

Super-conscious mind can also be called Spirit.  Healing already exists in Spirit.  If you want to bring healing to the physical level, it helps to know that it already exists.  It’s up to you to manifest it, to bring it into your reality.  Mind is the activating agent of Spirit; it is intention, desire and belief.  Your body is the manifest aspect of who you are.  Healing the mental level involves changing your perspective and perception.  A properly trained hypnotherapist can gently guide you to connect with your super-conscious mind, your Spirit.  Working together, you can identify and correct any beliefs that may be blocking health in your body.  The process can be relatively quick, but keep in mind that Spirit will not give you more than you can handle.  The feelings of peace and confidence you receive are indescribable.  That’s because the erroneous beliefs have been corrected.  You get to feel what your super-conscious mind knows about you – that you are perfect, whole and complete.  As you can feel this more and more, all aspects of your life begin to improve.  You sleep better, you feel more optimistic, your relationships seem more satisfying.  This is the truly spiritual side of life.  Your Spirit loves you and wants you to be all you can be.  Maslow called it being self-actualized.

If you enjoy helping others, you may wish to consider hypnotherapy training.  What a wonderful gift to give others, this feeling of peace and healing.  You can become a hypnotherapist and do this kind of work for a living.  Did you know that the Mayo Clinic recommends hypnosis for pain control, anxiety, hot flashes and behavior modification?  You can check it out here. There are many opportunities in this field.  Working with medical professionals is just one of them.  Opening your own practice is another.  Give it some thought.
